Goodbye, 2022.

We did it 🥵 2022 is almost done and we’re feeling pretty chuffed about the year that was. A massive thank you to all of our Rebel Yell clients and supporters for making 2022 a year to remember – we quite literally couldn’t have done it without you!

March Madness

We began 2022 with celebrations as Rebel Yell officially turned one and jumped straight into the new year helping some amazing Adelaide Fringe shows, including Arcadia and Port Adelaide’s Big Picture series get the word out!

We also had the absolute privilege of working with Adelaide Fringe’s 2022 poster artist Mali Isabel, as she debuted her ‘Rainbow Dreamz’ collection at Tandanya.

Festival City

After a typically hectic Adelaide March, we returned to the glamorous world of cabaret in June for the annual Adelaide Cabaret Fringe Festival! And the festival fun didn’t just stop there. Adelaide is lucky enough to have a busy mid-year festival schedule, and Rebel Yell teamed up with three of the biggest!

After Cab Fringe, we worked with Beer and BBQ Festival and MusicSA’s Umbrella Festival to celebrate Adelaide’s vibrant live music culture and hospitality scene. It was particularly heart-warming to see our mates return with the biggest Beer and BBQ Fest yet after a two-year COVID hiatus!

City of Music

Capping off the Winter celebrations, we worked closely with MusicSA for their annual Scouted event which showcased 14 local SA acts in front of industry representatives.

We also got to work directly with local artists, like indie-rock group Colter who released their debut EP ‘Life of the Party’ and Adelaide heavy stalwarts Hindsight for their release ‘Let’s Not & Just Say We Did’.

Sticking closely to our beloved music scene we also had the pleasure of helping the newest independent record label dedicated to female talent, Archangel Records launch and worked closely with Semaphore Music Festival on their October line-up announcement.

Big Changes

The second half of the year saw some exciting changes for Rebel Yell after an inspiring trip to BIGSOUND where we finally got to catch up with all of our music industry mates after two years! We moved into our new office at The Mill and installed a disco ball to liven up Friday drinks (and Monday mornings, Wednesday afternoons…really just everything)!

Since then we’ve been busy working with our mates at UniBar Adelaide who were inducted into the SA Music Hall of Fame and announced the return of the iconic O’Ball in 2023! We also jumped on board with Carclew for their 50th birthday party and celebrated local bands back on track at the Adelaide 500.

In true Rebel Yell style, we’ve stayed busy right up until the end, celebrating the local music industry (and our own nomination) at the 2022 SAM Awards and launching the full 2023 program for The Garden of Unearthly Delights (what a pinch me moment!).

Merry Kissmas

Rebel Yell will be taking a short break over Xmas to catch our breath. Our last day in the office will be the 23 December, returning for the new year on the 9 January. We will be getting back to any enquiries during this time on our return before we launch straight into the publicity campaign for The Garden of Unearthly Delights
